Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23)
There are lots of different ways you can help out at Goodhope Nazarene. If you are interested in serving the church below you will find various ways in which to do so.
If you want to participate in the ministry at Goodhope Nazarene then a great place to start is with church membership. Church Membership is a way to signify your desire to be a part of Goodhope Nazarene. It shows you believe in the work and ministry of the church and are in agreement with the beliefs of the Nazarene denomination. Of course, you do not need to be a member to worship with us each week or participate in discipleship classes or take the communion meal with us. However, membership allows you to serve on the church board and take part in church votes. If you want to learn more about becoming a member contact Pastor TJ.
If when you come to church each week and noticed that things are nice and tidy that is because we have a dedicated group of people who sign up to come in and clean the church each week. This is a tremendous help and more importantly, provides a welcoming atmosphere for guests. If you would like to give your time in this way there is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.
If you sing or play an instrument or are otherwise musically inclined there is always room for more people in our worship team. Contact the church if you are interested in this.
One of the most anonymous and thankless jobs is the person in the sound booth (that is of course until something goes wrong then everyone will notice you!). If you want to help out in this way or learn more about what goes into the Audio and visual components each week then let us know!
At least once a month we go to one of the local retirement homes. Currently, we go to Ava Place the first Sunday of each month and to Heart of the Ozarks about once every three months as scheduled. When we go to minister our motto is the more the merrier! The more people that can go and hug and visit with the residents the better. Seriously consider giving time to these people that too many others have forgotten.
The Church Board consists of Trustees, Stewards, Missions president, Sunday school superintendent, and a youth representative. The church board are the leaders of the church and is a big responsibility.
Besides the items listed above there are certainly other ways to serve; from yard work to teaching. there are probably even things we haven’t thought of yet, but that you have! If you want to find a way to serve in the church then talk to Pastor Tj or one of the members of the Board. We can surely find a place for you.
